Fergana is the country’s fruit and cotton basket. Drained by the upper Syr-Darya, the Fergana Valley is one big oasis, with some of the finest soil and climate in Central Asia. Already by the 2nd century BC the Greeks, Persians and Chinese found a prosperous kingdom based on farming, with some 70 towns and villages. The drive from Tashkent is spectacular; however, passing a huge reservoir and crossing a high mountain pass before descending towards Kokand. The valley’s people remain among the most hospitable and friendly in the country. Other attractions are exceptional crafts and several kaleidoscopic bazaars.

Day 1. Tashkent

Arrival in Tashkent. Transfer to the hotel and check in. City tour, we will see the Amir Timur Square, the Alisher Navoi Theater, the local bazaar and other places of interest such as the Khasti Imam Complex and the Kukeldash Madrassa. Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 2. Tashkent – Fergana

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to train station. Departure to Fergana (325km, 4 hrs.). Arrival in Fergana. Transfer and check in at the hotel. Rest after long drive. Free time. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Fergana.

Day 3. Fergana – Margilan — Rishtan — Kokand 

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Margilan. In Margilan, we are dealing with silk production. In a family business, the whole production process with all its peculiarities will be explained. In Rishtan visit a master factory and get to know the typical Fergana ceramics. Arrival in Kokand. Check in at the hotel. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Kokand.

Day 4. Kokand – Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Khudoyar Khan Palace and the Khan Cemetery. Transfer to train station, drive back to Tashkent (275km, 4 hrs.). Arrival in Tashkent. Check in at the hotel. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 5. Tashkent – Khiva

Breakfast at the hotel. Early flight to Urgench. Drive to Khiva. Check in at the hotel. Khiva is Oasis city of the fairy tale of 1001 nights! The craftsmanship in the Old Town and especially from the Khorezm region is known in the country. You will meet craftsmen and visit a workshop for wood carving as well as a small carpet weaving. A good opportunity to get in contact with the hospitable residents. Lunch and dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Khiva.

Day 6. Khiva

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour in Khiva – visit "Itchan Kala" (the inner citadel), the Kalta Minor Minaret, the Feruzkhan and Islam Khodja Madrasahs, the Mausoleum of Pakhlavan Makhmud. In the afternoon we admire the 213 wooden columns of the Jumah Mosque, the White Mosque and Ich-Hawli, a fortress-like castle which was the main palace of the Khan of Khiva. It consists of three main parts: the harem room, the room for receptions and banquets and the administrative space. Then we see the traditional center of Khoresm, the Allakulikhan Madrasah. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Khiva.

Day 7. Khiva – Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Bukhara (450 km). In the west of Uzbekistan, we cross the river Amu Darya and drive through the steppes and desert landscape of the Kyzyl Kum (Red sand) to Bukhara. On the way we make a picnic in the desert. We reach Bukhara, which has been called "the noble" since ancient times. Arrival and check in at the hotel. Rest after long drive. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 8. Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour in Bukhara – visit the Ark fortress, the Bolo-Hauz Mosque, Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan Madrasahs, the complex Poikalon. It consists of three architectural buildings, the Minaret Kalon, the Kalon Mosque and the Miri Arab Madrasah. Together, they form Bukhara’s most important building ensemble. Other sightseeing in Bukhara includes the oldest building in the city, the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, as well as the dome bazaar, where carpets, spices and handicrafts are still sold today. Dinner with folklore show in Nadir Divanbegi Madrasah. Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 9. Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Naqshbandi complex, where the founder of the dervish order of the same name is buried. A unique opportunity for you to meet with living Islam and everyday piety. Back in the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Chor-Minor is located. This tower gate, with its unique design, once served as the main entrance to a caravanserai. Lunch at the local restaurant. Free time for shopping. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Bukhara.

Day 10. Bukhara – Shahrisabz – Samarkand

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Samarkand (304km, 4hrs) via Shakhrisabz, the birthplace of Timur. The impressive ruins of his palace show how monumental the building must have once been. We also see the Gok Gumbaz Mosque and the Darus Saodat Complex, one of the most impressive buildings in the city. The road reaches a height of 1,675 meters and offers us a magnificent panorama. Arrival in Samarkand. Check in at the hotel. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 11. Samarkand

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour in Samarkand. The city was considered one of the most beautiful and important cities in the world in the Middle Ages and has not lost its charm until today. The central point is the Registan Square, with the three Madrasahs, which are arranged at right angles to each other and are decorated with ornaments. The palatial Mausoleum of the Mongol leader Timur — Guri Amir, will impress you. For centuries, the tall, melon-shaped dome greets the traveler. Shahi-Zinda, a magnificent ensemble of different Mausoleums. Lunch and dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Samarkand.

Day 12.  Samarkand – Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel. Half-day city tour in Samarkand. Visit of the great Mosque Bibi Khanum. Infinity is the variety of dark- and light-blue glazed bricks, majolica tiles and faience mosaics. Let us look forward to a culinary journey across the bazaar. In the evening, depart to Tashkent in high-speed train (307 km, 2hrs). Arrival in Tashkent. Check in at the hotel. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 13. Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour in Tashkent – visit Khasti Imam complex, Barak Khan Madrasah, the Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum, Kukeldash Madrasah, Independence square and the Museum of Applied Art. Overnight in Tashkent.

Day 14. Tashkent

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Tashkent.
